So the writing and recording sessions have begun in earnest for the next Goodstock Project E.P., to follow on from Remote.

However, spotting a quick snippet of one of June‘s a capella social media posts inspired Ben to propose a quick diversion for a full cover of the same track – Bring It On Home To Me. A 1962 Soul classic, by Sam Cooke.

The question would be whether the lockdown 2020 phone method could work for a well known song from 60 years ago! So, with Ben in the producer’s chair, he cut the drum track with his trusty iPhone and very soon after he had Ol‘s guitar, and Speaks‘ strings and piano in the bag.

And immediately following the momentous event of actually meeting each other, Jon and June set about creating a thunderous bass recording and an absolutely stellar vocal.

So here we present a fun diversion as proposed on December 28th 2022 and recorded during January and Feb 2023 – proving that not everything takes them 2 years – Sam Cooke’s Bring It On Home To Me, performed by The (fully acquainted) Goodstock Project!
