Well and truly back on it, what a riotous release this is!
The Fods had hit the airwaves with Cold in March, and then released a remix of Kickback (originally from the Don’t ARgue EP) in April.
And all the while this 2-sided blast of attitude was in the works: a new single in a punk stylee, with original song I Don’t Hate It backed with an old staple from the Don’t Argue (the band) days in Teenage Lust (a Jesus & Mary Chain cover)
I Don’t Hate It
Fast, growly, punky and then with a few short detours around other guitar genres. Another track courtesy of Critchley / Collins.
Ol tells us that the lyrics came from him calling Rob out on using the phrase “I Don’t Hate It” to convey his first impressions on stuff – and challenged him to write a song around it.
And here we have it, with a full on ensemble Fods cast piling everything in, from Ez‘s RatCaster chorus (see pic) , to Alan‘s BVs and solo’ing, accompanying Ol on other musical matters.
Vocals are from Gail of The Puncturists who manages to keep things professional amongst all the surrounding chaos.
Teenage Lust
Wow, so what do have here – a re-union of sorts, seeing as this track has been recorded by Don’t Argue personnel in honour of this tune being a part of the set and rehearsals way back in the early 90s.
Teenage Lust with a lead vocal by Rob, recorded at Chez Ez one drunken afternoon at the end of December 2025, and Ez‘s ferocious rhythm guitar (the RatCaster again) in the same session. Thanks to the stars aligning, we also have a rhythm section of Ben Hornby and Jon Sealby, and Ol rounding things off with some lead guitar. That’s as close to a Don’t Argue re-union as can be expected these days.
So, there we have it – once again a Critchley / Collins, original for 2026, backed with a gem from the archives raging in a right load of noise and fuzz.
