Arty, spiky, a little bit French.

Good Stock Records is very pleased to announce The Fods‘ new single Cold, out 31st March 2026, featuring the distinctive and haunting vocals of French singer Sonia Hutchinson.

Following hot-ish (February was deemed unworthy of keeping up the recently monthly release streak) on the heels of Fuel and What, this one captures The Fods in a sharper, more urgent mood, blending their characteristic riff-heavy edge with electronic pulses and Sonia’s highly charged delivery.

Penned by Critchley / Collins once again, quite possibly the most arty piece so far from The Fods; presenting a powerful 5-minute novella exploring themes of abandonment & desolation, Cold is a slice of minor key, electronic-tinged alt-rock, channeling the raw ache of abandonment and the slow freeze of a relationship gone glacial. Sonia‘s vocal expresses both desperation and reflective urgency throughout the track – carrying the emotional weight while the insistent drive underneath keeps the temperature from ever thawing properly.
