The Goodstock Project are an indie rock band with soul. In between writing songs, we like to challenge ourselves by picking a giant soul tune to cover.
So, following “Bring It On Home To Me” by Sam Cooke and “These Arms of Mine” by Otis Redding, we convened at our favourite beer and tapas meeting spot, Dimitri’s in Manchester, to discuss what’s next.
A few songs were mentioned, but one immediately stood out, particularly as June said she’d always wanted to have a crack at it.
So, we are delighted to announce that our version of the Northern Soul classic, “The Snake” written by Oscar Brown, Jr., but made famous in 1968 by Al Wilson, will be out on October 3rd.
The track was recorded remotely in our homes, as per our previous efforts, but we felt it was time to do something different with the video. And man, have we done something different!
Please look out for more information on a very special project.
Enjoy and feel free to Contact Us for further info.
